Once arrived to last turn before entering the town, and there it is, the Molveno’s lake… that leaves you breathless, of an iridescent deep blue colour, depending on the reflection angle. It was described by Fogazzaro as “A precious pearl inside an even more precious chest”
Lake Molveno has been nominated by Legambiente as the most beautiful lake of Italy and awarded with 5 sails.
Our splendid lake Molveno has a history dating back to the post-glacial period, when a huge landslide broke away from the above standing mountain causing the closure of the valley. With a depth of about 130m is only the second after Lake Garda and its waters hide the entire prehistoric forest, with signs of settlements from the Bronze Age.

Incorniciato dalle Dolomiti di Brenta, patrimonio dell’Unesco, il lago di Molveno è stato nominato per 7 volte dal 2014 al 2021 come Lago più Bello d’Italia da Legambiente.
Un importantissimo riconoscimento che premia non solo la bellezza della natura circostante, ma anche la qualità dell’acqua e dell’ambiente e le azioni di sostenibilità attuate dal Comune e dai suoi abitanti.

We had a fantastic welcome when we arrived. All of the staff were so friendly and remembered our names whenever we moved around the hotel. The housekeeping team kept our room meticulous. The food served was of a high standard and plentiful. It was a brilliant holiday.
My husband and I spent a week at this hotel, our first trip to Italy, and every aspect of our time there was superb. The hotel furnishings, the staff, the meals, absolutely everything was beyond our expectations. We would love to return and confirm that this family hotel is exceptional and Molveno is a true delight in the Dolomites!
